It's a play on the word... Men can be men even when they are decorated with what we cast as feminine clothing. The child-like photos... playful boy and boy sitting on bed are showing that men can still be playful and sensitive. And as for the other photos... with the grabbing of the crotch, spiderman and the thug-ish look, it shows how ridiculous we cast what is masculine.

Genius - Love love love this thread....The black & white backshot with homie in heels is amazing, so is the childish boy sitting on his bed, love that one. Ladyboy is the new black.
Thanks for the answer and your perspective! One of my biggest responsibilities right now as a father and pasto is to teach men and my son(s?) what is masculine and what is not according to Jesus and the Bible so that they can serve both men and women better.
Explanation of the "son(s?)" - Frances is pregnant again! We don't know if the baby is a boy or girl yet...
I think the problem is that masculine is typically defined by its relation to feminine. This means that our definition of maleness is defined by its opposition to femininity. As men we are judged by how non-feminine we are. This all to often lends itself to an opposition of wills. I am not feminine because I dominate the feminine and subjugate it, therefore I am masculine. So because of the societal pressure for men to separate themselves from things feminine, we end up with female subjugation condoned by society in a statement of "masculinity". I think teddy makes a good point that I can still be a man and a proud man and not have to dominate or subjugate the feminine. Instead we can, as men take all of our being into account, we (as men) can examine and even embody those qualities typically thought of as feminine and still be men.
Honest question: What makes this masculine? Is it simply that they are males?
